The purpose of this assignment is to show that you understand the sociological perspective on health and illness and the social factors that influence health. For this assignment create a discussion board post that contains the following two components:
- Drawing on the first chapter of the Weitz text and the Conrad and Barker article, explain social constructionism and describe how it relates to health and illness.
- Choose three social sources of premature death from Chapter 2 of your Weitz textbook and explain how these social sources impact illness. Use an additional scholarly source for each of the three sources you choose to support your argument.
