Stress that’s left unchecked can present many health problems. These arising problems can include problems such as high blood pressure, heart disease, obesity and diabetes. Stress has also been connected to or can aggravate numerous medical conditions, such as asthma, fatigue, back pain, difficulty breathing, headaches, hypertension, irritable bowel syndrome, ulcers, and even suppression of the immune system.

Taking practical steps to manage your stress, can reduce the risk of negative health effects. One way to reduce the risk of stress can be to exercise regularly. Engaging in physical activity takes part in minimizing and preventing the effects of stress. Another way can be to maintain a healthy diet. Flourishing bodies are better prepared to manage stress. Ways to do this are to reduce caffeine and sugar, and switch to soothing foods such as a bowl of warm oatmeal; oatmeal boost levels of serotonin, a calming brain chemical. An additional way to manage stress while positively impacting lifestyle would be to focus on being well-rested. Following a regular sleep schedule calms and rehabilitates the body. This also improves concentration, eliminates mood swings, and polishes judgment and decision-making.

Personally, I live a very busy life; some would call it hectic. I am a full time student who also works multiple jobs to pay for school, a mortgage, an upcoming wedding and overall living! I teach at three different local dance studios and am a fitness instructor at my local barre studio. I even recently became an ambassador for ONEHOPE wine as a side hustle! Maintaining an organized schedule has often been stressful but I make sure I am always well-rested and keep on top of a healthy diet so I still healthy and don’t carry any stress. I feel I do a very good job at doing so. There has been times where I noticed I have forgotten to eat a meal because I was to busy working or was losing sleep preparing for work or catching up on school work. Catching that, I have been more aware of my lifestyle because I fully understand I come first.
